What information is required for a sea or airfreight quote
Pickup and delivery location. Weight and measurements of items in addition to the below.
- Do you require Air freight? (Transit time approx. 7 days once collected)
- Do you require Sea freight? (Transit time can be a month to 45 days once collected)
- Do you require door to door, this is clearance and delivery? Or Port to port/airport. Customer arranges their own clearance and delivery.
- Is there a forklift available at both the collection and delivery sites?
- Are the pallets/skids stackable?
- What are the intercoms? Are the goods FOB or Ex Works, DAP?
Ex Works means that the Supplier pays for nothing, and the Consignee pays from Door to Door. Some Suppliers do not have Export Licences, so they request Ex Works.
FOB or Free on Board means that the Supplier covers the Local Charges, and the Consignee covers Freight Only plus Import Charges to Door.
DAP The buyer is responsible for import clearance and any applicable local taxes or import duties.
